Unit 27 is a good unit for many critters. We visit to hunt or camp at
least once a year if not more often.
Here are some pictures from a trip in October 2003

Much of the north end of Unit 27 looks like this, hills,
with deep valleys

Here are some of the deer we saw on this trip. No guarantees,
but we've never made a trip to Unit 27 without seeing wildlife.

 |
The south end of Unit 27 has fewer hills and wide grassy
valleys. Lots of deer and antelope are here again |
 |
a view from the road headed north |
 |
A common view is a grassy field with others
hills in the distance |
 |
Lots od trees but there's still lots of
visibility, walk slow and scan for movement. It's possible to stalk
in these areas just take your time. |

The same shot as above a few minutes
after the sun went down |

This is a poor quality shot of an Elk in the clearing above the tree
root

The stretch between the mountains in the south end
of Unit 27 headed north to the white mountains

This is a flooded portion of the road to Honeymoon campground
in the south portion of Unit 27

most of unit 27 is Forest so there are plenty of
